Emotional eating

Last night my husband started a stupid argument and instead of feeling like crap and eating it all away, I went to bed. Vowed that no one is going to make me feel "small", or indebted for my mere existance. I am in control, no one else! If he can't get on board, hop off! 30 years of no control is over !

" Way to go! No one can force us to eat! Choosing another activity--even going to sleep--is preferable to stuffing ourselves. Thanks for posting.

I find that when something is stressing me, either another person or bad news/anxiety, my first thought is to go get something to eat. I have been working on IMMEDIATE recognition of this pattern. The very moment that "eat" voice starts, I catch it and identify it. Then I try to do something else instead. "

" Amen. Hope you continue to concentrate on your needs and enjoying life. Maybe it will be catchy, or like you say, maybe he'll just spend time being miserable elsewhere so it doesn't impede your new lease on life. Congratulations on your decision. I hope things only look up for you. "
