It takes a good month before your body fully adjusts to a new calorie intake. If there was a big change from your previous diet to the weightwatchers one, you will be very hungry first 10 days. Then after about 2-3 weeks, you will start to notice you are hungry mainly 1-2 hours before each meal. That is perfectly normal. Hunger is your bodies way of saying you are ready to eat again.
We generally gain weight because we stop listening to our body, it does self regulate. If you ate a large lunch you should be less hungry at dinner. And that is your bodies way of trying to keep your eating at a optimum level. Naturally slender people regulate on a bite to bite level, often leave plates with a small bit left, not because they want to be wasteful but because they are very in tune with their own hunger and fullness levels. I recommend you start making comments around your meals on how full you are when you finish. How hungry you are when you ate. Use a numerical scale and see how it goes. Also if you really find you are very hungry all the time. Try eating less at the main meals and have more evenly spaced small meals.

I did WW for a while but was never over hungry!
Perhaps if you divided you daily foods into small and more often meals...like 6 mini meals. Also are you drinking enough water? Maybe drink 8oz water 1/2 hour before your meal.

I am drinking tons of water.
I am also trying to work out and that burns more calories than I think they allow. I get hungry and cannot get full. It's miserable... TEN DAYS! OMG. I will never be able to tolerate that. Maybe I need to cut down points a little ata time. Thx for your input. xo Sun

I've done WW before, and at first, I was really hungry too. I don't know if you are eating your extra points, but if you are hungry do so. And also, WW will stress that you are free to eat your activity points if you wish. So if you think that you are exercising a lot, and possibly not getting enough food, don't be afraid to eat them, or maybe just half of them. I waited tables when I was on WW, and I would be running around for 6-7 hours a night, so I ate my extra points often and lost great. It does take time to adjust and figure out what your body needs, but you'll get there! It's a great program and it works. Good luck to you.

P.S. Take advantage of your free food also, if you are not doing so already. Fruits and veggies can be a good way to stave off hunger. :-)

drink a glass of water before each meal and if you feel hungry.. drink a glass of water. you may just be thirsty cuz your body gets rid of a lot of weight through going number one.
try eating more vegetables (fiber). it fills you up and is low in points. last night i steamed a head of cabbage, cauliflower and a red onion.. and i sauteed/steamed two bunches of brocolli with garlic and had two reg size bowls of the mixed vegs. and one of the brocolli and had like 237 cal. left at the end of the night i still could have eat'n, but didn't. i dropped 3lbs overnight that i had gained from binging on del taco the night before. also, check out the "full plate diet" ebook online to get tips on eating habbits that change your mind body soul and spirit...and make you lose lose lose on the scale. ;)

In order to lose weight, we must keep our bodies operating on a DEFICIT. Fewer calories in. This unfortunately leaves me hungry also. If I am not hungry, I don't lose weight. If I have a day where I ate to a comfort level (not overeating), and felt great, I know my scale will be UP. It's so frustrating! I feel hungry, weak, irritable on WW or any other diet, because my body is operating on a DEFICIT and let's me know it. Therefore, I don't have any advice to you. Just the fact that in order to lose weight, we must endure some hunger!

I don't believe in starving. Not for anything. If you are that hungry, this is not going to work for you long term. And long term is what this is about. So I encourage you to tinker with what you are doing. Are you eating plenty of whole grains? Whole grains definitely make me feel fuller longer, whereas I burn right through anything white and am hungry again too fast. I thought the suggestion about using vegetables to stave off hunger was a good one, too.

Diet jelly is zero WW points as is all fruit and most veggies so load up on those. Eat the filling foods as highlighted in the book which keep you full for longer.
I'm finding I'm loosing much more slowly on the Pro Points plan compaired to any of the others I've done in the past but that may be an age issue. Best of luck!

It is your body, your health, your weight loss.
Every person is unique, and although the "calories in (eating) vs calories out (exercise)" is the basic formula, we all have different metabolisms. I'd say to track your weight on a daily basis. If you are losing weight at a good rate, but still hungry, then eat a bit more. If you are still losing weight at a rate you are comfortable with then use your own formula.
