I always drink unsweetned tea. Tea is good for you. I don't eat beef or anything high in saturated fats. There is still plenty of good choices to eat that are equal to what I would make at home. Some even better.

MSG-Induced Obesity
MSG is injected into laboratory rats to induce obesity. It also has been shown to increase appetite in male rats and to induce obesity in female rats and chickens. Personally (and this is just me -- not a nutritionist, nor a scientist!), but my philosophy is that food is food, and the way to lose weight is to take in fewer calories than you burn. Are some choices more nutritious than others? Sure. My other tenet of weight loss is moderation -- if I do end up at a fast food joint or restaurant, it's infrequently, and I do, like others, pre-read the nutritional information before I choose. For me, no food is "forbidden" -- it's a matter of knowedge and making choices. So...more calories out than in, through exercising and food journalling, careful decision-making when choosing what to eat (at home or out!), being thoughtful regarding food, and realizing that food is...food. So far, I've lost 62 pounds, with occasional forays into a fast food place...

I have been a health nut a long time. The food industry is trying to kill us and keep us fat in all the food we eat not just fast food. It is hard to live in a bubble from everything. It is not just one food additive that is causing the problem. It is much bigger than that. Hunger hormones are a huge part of why our will power is not effective. Inflammation is also trapping us. I have raised my own food. Even grew the food I feed to the meat I raised and butchered myself. I have been vegan too. I am just now getting to believe this obesity problem is way bigger than eat less, exercise more. Even the experts have said until they come up with a cure people will continue to gain all the weight back that they lose. Part of me has fought so long I don't want a pill. I have had a loss every week since April except for three. I don't have the answers but for me I just do the best I can. I am obsessive enough.

CinnamintStick: You are right about needing a cure for weight, but the pharmacutical companies and Dr's will never come up with one. The is far to much money in the "diet" industry. The food and drug companies do not want us thin and healthy. That is why we should never eat or drink anything labeled ; diet, low fat, fat free, sugar free, etc.
