" You can always look up there sites on line for nutrition information.

http://www.wendys.com/food/Nutriti...

I don't like either place. I do go to Asian fast food and order steamed vegetables instead of rice and chow mein on the combo menu. I also like the fat free subway chicken breast.

I eat at Coco's alot because of there fit and lively menu. http://www.cocosbakery.com/menu_09...#fit "

" I agree with what Cinnamint said about reading the nutritional information for specific places online. Just about all big fast food places have nutritional information available online, and you can really educate yourself about the contents of various items. In addition, here are a few rules of thumb if you find yourself in a situation where you have to eat fast food:
1. The smallest, plainest burger (or whatever) is usually lower in calories and fat than almost anything else on the menu. At McDonald's, that would be just a regular old hamburger.
2. Don't order fries, onion rings, a shake, or any item with cheese in it or on it.
3. If you have something with chicken in it, make sure the chicken is grilled and not fried.
4. Skip the soda and get water or non-fat milk if they have it.
5. Don't order anything that is fried. "

" I don't go to any fast food places anymore; all the food is littered with grease and salt and sugar.

I stopped for awhile and found that when I went back, I felt like I had eaten a bowl of salty lard. My mouth and tongue felt coated with grease and salt.

Aside from plain coffee, salad with no dressing, skim milk, there is nothing healthy to be had at fast food places. "

" Get a "happy meal" and only eat the box! There are no good choices at a fast food joint. Even their salad dressing is unacceptably fattening, and a salad would be the best choice by far.
They load the food with MSG too. "

" I hate it when people tell you not to go to a fast food restaurant. You should be able to incorporate a diet into your life. A diet won't work if you don't do it and if you have friends and family who frequent these places with you or sometimes we all need the convience then it's just good to be prepared to make better choices. I do frequent these places much less than I used to but they do have healthier options. Salads are usually the best, but ask for the fat free dressings. Another tip is to dip your fork in the dressing and then eat your food. Don't poor full fat dressing all over your salad. McD's does offer salads, grilled chicken wraps. I like theire classic grilled chicken, but be sure to tell them no mayo. Add musturd if you'd like. I love McD's fruit and yogurt parfait and if you really need a burger one of their smalled plain burger or cheese burgers are the way to go. I don't frequent Wendy's as often, but I know their chili is low in calories. I also like Jack-in-the-Box's options. They have salads, the grilled chicken pita, grilled chicken strips instead of fried (novel idea), they have grilled chicken pita snacks, and a chicken sammi that's pretty light and not expensive. Chick-fila has tons of low cal options. I've never been big on sweets and I don't keep them in my house because then I might eat them, but once in awhile if I want a treat I will get a vanilla ice cream cone from McD's 150 cals and yummy. Of course subway has healthy options and quiznos. The best thing to do is investigate their websites for nutritional information and make your choice before you go. Order first so you won't change your mind when your family and friends are all making unhealthy choices. Good luck to you! "

" Do not eat anything labeled; fat free, calorie free, low fat, low calorie etc. They replace the fat and sugar with chemicals that are NOT good for you, especially if you want to loose weight. "

" I agree. I travel a lot. I need to eat. I am not brown bagging it. I have no problem finding good choices with a little planning. Some of my best weekly losses was when I ate out the most. "

" All of the hamburgers are loaded with MSG. Google it and look for negative comments. It is a drug, and I am not talking about phamacuticals. It is an excitotoxin. It gets you high. To see if your meat has MSG, look for on the label for anything like "natural beef flavoring" in beef or "chicken broth" in chicken. Also, avoid all white bread. Do not drink soda, especially diet soda.
Avoid HFCS (high fructose corn syrup). It is a fattening agent that your body cannot utilize. "
