After a great deal of information gathering, reading and more reading of food addiction books I have come to realize that I have an eating disorder. I will either eat nothing at all , or everything I can put my hands on . My recent roller coaster has left me with an additional 85 pounds in 13 months. I am looking for chat rooms or OA groups online.
Thanks.

" This is a great group to help you find a healthier way to eat. Also there is a group for Food addictions and for OE. Also Depression seems to go hand in hand with many types of eating disorders. So you may want to consider that and talk to your GP about treatment. I have found the best way to start is just cut your portion size down. And start moving more (Walk, bike etc). Keeping an accurate food diary also is a great learning tool. "

" I would recommend a book called "The Thin Commandments" by Dr. Stephen Gullo. I am a food addict and this has helped me to understand why I am addicted to some of the foods that I binge on. It also helps you to put food into perspective the way to solve the eating problem. It takes you back to when you were growing up and how food influenced your life. I think it would be a great place to start. He also has a book called "Thin Tastes Better" I have just ordered this one and can't wait to read it. "

" I'm glad your here, Hopefully it helps you. Those eating habits are what your choosing to eat, its important to think about if your body wants it in the first place too. One thing I do is I changed cookies for triscuits. Morning cereal for fiber bars, and all around small changes, just finding a few small changes you can make, you might see an improve in your mood from them. I hope the best for you and I'm here if you need help. "
