" Lots of people have...try posting on discussion board. I haven't done it but I've heard that it works well for men, and it's quick but somewhat unhealthy. I tried to South Beach instead, supposed to be a lifestyle change. It was just too costly at the time. "

" I'm a male --- I tried Atkins --- and I lost about 30 pounds in 4 months. I was on a strict meat and cheese diet with various condiments. This diet is very satisfying for people that love to eat meat.

Of course... I gained the weight back once I stopped the diet and eventually stopped exercising. Good luck! "

" My advice is a healthy diet. A high protein approach is ok and the two week diet in the Adkins diet to get you started an motivated might be a good approach. However I suggest you make sure you get plenty of veggies. Don't ration your green veggies. Also remember that calories always matter. So I guess I am talking you out of the Atkins diet since it suggests not counting calories. I would suggestion lean meats and veggies for a good diet. Make it a rotation of foods that will work for life. It is something I have yet to manage myself so take my advice with a grain of salt. "

" My brother has done Adkins for years. He got sick in March and lost 30 pounds. He gained it all back by July while sticking to Adkins. "
