" You can join online or pick up a book on it. There are three phases. Phase one is for two weeks. Can lose 9-13 pounds. No sugar, carbs and caffine is limited. Resets your hunger and cravings. Phase 2 you add a few "good carbs" and stay on this phase until you are at you goal. Phase 3 is then a way of eating for life. I lost 17 lbs. in 6 weeks. Been straying now for a couple weeks so need to get back on it. I would recomend it! Good luck. "

" Thank you. That is great that you lost weight. Carbs make up about 90% of diet so I think this will work for me if I can stay with it. I started today. Im a little ense about it because Im nervous. I also have kids here so I have to have food for them in the house. "

" I was one of the first to ever do the South Beach Diet back when Dr. Agatston would help us at the Prevention Boards. I can help you with anything you need to know. I am very good with explaining the glycemic index and any parts of the diet. I don't do the SBD anymore but I did do it for serveal years and know all the bumps in the road that people grow through.

For me I need a diet that counts calories. I only get so far with stopping when I thinking I am satisfied. I also have cravings and eat for other reasons that are not related to blood sugar and insulin resistance. "

" South Beach is a very good plan...the first phase takes a bit of getting used to, though. "
