I dont really feel like this is a problem but I joined another weight loss website to help me chart my progress. At first I was loosing a lb a week and decided that I wanted to try to loose 2lbs a week. I decided to lower my calorie intake to try to achieve this. I went from 1900 calories a week down to 1700. I still feel full when I eat. I honestly dont feel like I could eat any more then that anymore. I drink 8 glasses of water a day, and I exercise an hour a day everyday. I love my routine. I keep a journal of my food intake.
Well last week I lost 6lbs which for me was exciting, and then today I found out that I lost 5lbs this week. I only weigh in on Saturdays. Well the website that helps me log my weight has added a little side note saying that im loosing to much weight. I dont feel like im loosing to much weight. I feel more healthy, and I have more energy. Is it ok for me to keep loosing 5lbs a week? I dont feel unhealthy, like I said I feel great. I appreciate any advice that anyone has.

" I think the main concern is that anything over 2 lbs a week may mean you are losing valuable fluids and muscle mass. I am not sure what your starting weight is, but usually the more a person has to lose the more pounds they drop at the beginning, but it should slow down to no more than 2 lbs a week. Anywhere between .5 and 2 lbs a week is a good wt loss rate. That's what I've learned, I also heard that the faster you take off wt the faster you will put it back on the moment you stray from your diet. I learned all of this while I was on weight watchers. Great job with your motivation and desire to be healthy, I am in the same boat...small children, not so small mom:) "

" I don't think you will continue to lose 5 pounds a week. I will lose 5 to 6 pounds a week in my first two weeks of any diet change. Then I slow down. I think at 1700 calories you still might not even lose two pounds a week, but maybe. I am eating on average about 1,700 calories a day. Sometimes more and sometimes less. I have slowed down and even stayed the same last week even with exercising everyday.

The very obesed can lose more than the two pounds a week short term, with doctors supervision. It is called Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). They drop down to 800 calories a week. Some doctors think that the benifits to health out weight any dangers in younger people. When your older there is to many risk. "

" I used the HCG diet. aka "The weight Loss Cure" by Kevin Trudeau (book). I losl 10 pounds in 1 week. The "diet" industry does not like it if you loose the weight that fast. It takes away too much profit, you know. I have lost over 35 pounds, and am having a MUCH easier time than ever before, keeping the weight off. "
