I am about 20 pounds overweight from having 3 babies in the last 4 years. I need to lose this weight! I am wearing maternity clothes because I can't fit into my old clothes and I can't justify buying new clothes (a huge expense for us) when I just want to lose the weight. I have depression and I can only really motivate myself to workout once or twice a week, which just isn't cutting it. Also, I don't have much money to buy healthy food because even though I would gladly live on lentil soup (lentils are cheap) my family will not and I can't just buy food for myself. I also have a tendency to overeat when I am depressed and I binge. I don't know what to do. I feel like I have to be constantly exercising to burn off all the food I eat or I have to go on a juice diet to make up for the lack of exercise, but I know neither of those is really a sensible option.

Without exercise it is near impossible that you will keep the weight off if you even get it off. This is proven from the experts from Harvard School of Public Health. This isn't something I made up. Here is a little from there website
"If you are exercising mainly to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, 30 minutes or so a day may work if you're careful about how much you eat. (19) But you may need to exercise more, or more vigorously. A report from the Institute of Medicine concluded that it takes 60 minutes a day of moderate-intensity activity to maintain a healthy weight. (20)

Among the nearly 3,700 men and women who are part of the National Weight Control Registry, a select club that includes only people who lost more than 30 pounds and kept them off for at least a year, the average participant burns an average of about 400 calories per day in physical activity. That's the equivalent of about 60 to 75 minutes of brisk walking, or 35 to 40 minutes of jogging. (21) But there's quite a bit of variation from participant to participant—some require more physical activity to keep the weight off, some require less." "

" Don't worry. Lots of times it's actually cheaper to eat healthy foods. The healthiest foods are fruits and vegetables. They come out cheaper because they don't have packaging and processing like unhealthy foods.

A bit of meat or eggs is healthy, but not too much. Eggs are pretty cheap. Meat is pricey, so just have a little sometimes.

Most kids like at least some kinds of fruit. Just try to replace any foods you can with fresh fruits and vegetables. You can just eat them raw. Or you can get some frozen ones if they are on sale. Most groceries put produce on sale, and even have some on clearance. Cut coupons, and you will save even more.

This also helps you eat less calories, because a huge salad has less calories than a huge plate of most other foods. Don't worry too much about dressing, just don't use too much. Lemon juice and a bit of light seasoning are good. Or a little oil and vinegar.

Once you eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, you will have more energy, and it will be easier to exercise.

I personally believe that binging is your body telling you it needs more nutrients like vitamins and minerals found in fresh fruit. Try eating some apples or oranges. When we get stressed, our body needs more nutrients.

Companies try to convince us that their packaged foods are the cheapest, but it's not true, because they are not as nutrient-dense and produce, so we end up having to eat more of them and it ends up costing us more.

" Well a juice diet is not the way to go. If you can not afford other foods, you can not afford the right foods for juices.

You need to eat the basics which you should be buying for you family already.
Breakfast Oatmeal, milk and fruit
Lunch Soup, salads, tuna sandwich, PB & J sandwich
Supper Lean meat, veggies
Snacks - air popped popcorn, celery, carrots, fruits, graham crackers, (I love PB on graham cracker). Lot of healthy things to buy on a low budget if you really put your mind to it. Stop the junk and snackeys that are not good for you or your children.
You can do this if you want to really do it! "

His profile claims a masters in nutrition, which contradicts pushing overpriced diet pills.
If you know so much about nutrition, let's hear some wisdom about food.
Exercise is needed to maintain bone density and muscle mass.
Nutrients are needed in the form of healthy foods.

A bottle of 120 pills for $60, pills consisting of caffein, green tea, banaba leaf, CLA, hoodia, and black pepper, are not needed for a healthy weight loss.

Stick to the other suggestions in this thread, you will succeed. "

" Try adding vitamin D to you diet. It is very cheap and you will feel a world of difference in the way you feel. When you have a doctor appointment next, have them check your vit D level. Researcher have found that Vit D makes a big difference in the way that you look at yourself and the world around you. I can tell you from personal experience that it made a big difference in my life. Check out this website. It explains the Vit D very well.

" What are the ages of your kids? I am assuming they are old enough to go to the park. Go out play with them if they are. It has benefits for all of you. First the kids will enjoy your attention. Second it will cheer you up. Third you will be burning calries. Fourth you will be teaching your kids good habits which will make them less likely to be overweight when they are grown up. As for the food it is mainly eating fruits and vegtables and portion control. "
