Advice:
How to keep going?

I have given myself a year to lose weight before we try IVF. During the first 2 months I lost 20 pounds but during this last month I have lost my motivation. I am still eating pretty good so I didn't gain any weight but I haven't lost any either. When ever I think about exercising I either find a lame excuse not to or start to exercise but 10 minutes later I am usually bored.
How do you keep from getting bored and how do you keep yourself motivated to keep at it?

" Perhaps sharing your motivation with friends? Let them know that losing X pounds is a goal before you can try IVF. They may rally around you, and help motivate you. Perhaps they can take turns going to the gym with you, etc.

Get hubby involved? Have him take brisk walks with you??? "

" Hi Kristi,
I can exercise for a long time if I'm either watching tv or walking outside. I watch my fav shows while on the elliptical and treadmill. When I'm outside, it's usually a nice day-not to cold or hot and I walk along an attractive route and I can listen to my fav radio shows or great music. Once you develop the habit you can't do without it (like brushing your teeth or showering). It will only take you about a month for it to become a habit. It is TOTALLY worth it!!
Losing the first 20 is amazing! Congrats on that . The most important thing about getting healthy is to just keep going. Yeah, you will slip up occasionally but that's fine-it's ok-just keep hacking away at it day after day and one day-you will be 5 pounds from your goal weight and you will feel amazing!
Eat when you are hungry-don't suffer. Eat salads with plenty of veggies plus a bit of olive oil and balsamic. Add some protein like fish or turkey or tuna or egg or chicken. Try to eat much less sugar and white carbs. Eat fruit for your sweet tooth. A handful of nuts for snack or popcorn. A square or 2 of dark chocolate for a treat and it's very good for you. "

" i would suggest trying to mix it up the best you can. for example maybe you can play basketball one day, swim the next, run the next, maybe some bike riding or whatever you have at your disposal.I find that I like having a routine but i cant do the same exercise everyday. music helps so much and a scenic route does wonders also. social support like the pepperman said. hope i helped "
