My job requires me to sit the majority of 9hr days. It's taken it's toll on me in the fact that I have no energy outside of work to do anything else. I used to do yoga a lot and LOVED it. I haven't taken the time to do it in over a year and hate that.
Does anyone know of any kind of exercise I could do at my desk without looking like a total idiot? :P I need my energy flow back. Posted on 06/28/12, 11:56 am |

Is there any way you can get up and walk around during the day? Break time? Lunch?
Do you spend time on the phone? perhaps you can stand when you talk. It may look a bit odd, but not like a total idiot. Also, talk to the other people at work; if you are concerned about this odds are that others are too. Perhaps you all can come up with an idea. After all, if one person does something it may appear idiotic, but if everybody does it, well, then it becomes a social movement!

I do stand some. When I'm working on things like, sorting the mail or that kind of thing. The highlight of my day is when I get to walk paperwork back to the warehouse manager. lol.. It's not very often but I take full advantage of it because it isn't something I have to do. Its too hard for me to take breaks or even get away from my desk for lunch because I'm usually pulled back in for something or someone. It gets a bit confining, feeling as though I'm chained to this desk.
