When I was dx as T2 this past July, my A1C was 12.5. I went to my Endocrinologist this past Monday and I'm happy to report that it is now 6.5. I was really pleased about it, but left feeling a little down. Why? Cause I just hate being diabetic. Ugh.

What is your A1C and how do you feel about it?

" We had this discussion on Dealing with Diabetes. A1C tests vary- mine ranges between 6.5 and 6.8 - it used to be lower but this is a progressive disease and unfortunately, no matter what you do it gets worse. The pancreas just gets more tired with time and meds. There are people here who's A1C is under 6 and I get jealous.

There isn't a member in any diabetic group that doesn't feel like you do. That's why we're here - to vent and vent and vent "

" thank you pal, I appreciate the support. I take Metformin and was taking Juniva up until last week. I really think changing what I eat has helped although I still do binge. When I do, I feel guilty. "

" browneyed - I've got diabetes for 11 years now and I feel worse today than then. Your life changes and not for the good; whether its going out socially, to restaurants, the supermarket. I still get jealous of all those who eat high carbs, sandwiches, etcl and I just drool "
