Question about the Cinnamon Tablets

I know I had responded to a post but can't seem to find it now. Someone had mention that the Cinnamon Tablets were great at lower your bs. Does this mean if your bs is high it will lower it quickly? I had bought some and I'm taking one in the morning and one in the evening. Is this to much. I tried to find out who mention this but can't remember. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Posted on 07/16/09, 09:07 pm |

Some say it lowers BS; others not. It never did a thing for me. Don't expect that if you take a pill it will lower your BS immediately. If it does work with you its a comulative effect. The same with chromium - some it works; others, not.

This is still in the study phase and a topic for debate.
But all of the studies done thus far were shown to take effect after 1 month of continuous use. Also, there are two types of cinnamon. Zelanicum and Cassia. Cinnamonum Zelanicum was the type used in the studies however Cinnamonum Cassia is what is typically sold in groceries. So if you get tablet suppliments, be sure to get Zelanicum. Usual dose is 2 grams per day split although you can safely take up to 6 grams per day split. (as documented by the ADA) Of course always check with your doctor first.

I never tried tablets but i did use a lot of the powder and it never did a thing for my sugars. The chromium worked for me and not for some of my friends.

We all have to listen to sockfuzz because she's he only one who knows anything. And to think she's not even diabetic - she just wants to show off. I thought this was a diabetic support group. Did it change ? There are a couple of people on this site who will probably listen to her and I think we all know who they are. Others, like me, would like to get rid of her. As a matter of fact, I was considering reporting her and see if they can't get rid of her.

Yes, it is a diabetic support group, Arline. I dont think you can really support another diabetic unless you are one yourself. Unless you have experienced first hand the pain of neuropathy or injections or sores, or just eating... you really cant tell a diabetic what to do.

I'm sorry if I have started something with my concern. I'm not here to cause any trouble just some support and info.

No worries SassyGram. You didn't do anything wrong. Please take what you can from the forum and leave the rest. :)

No, Sassygram... you did nothing wrong. It is great that you had questions. You did not start anything. This is a support group for diabetics, so take what you want from it and leave the rest. Do not stop posting or asking questions. That is why we are all here, diabetics to support each other. It is just that sometimes people post as if they were diabetics and no one can understand or know what it is like unless you are a real diabetic.
