Hello everyone, I have been a type 2 diabetic now since Nov. of last year.
I am doing well so far as to keeping my sugars under control and I am taking Metformin it seems to be helping alot. But there are times where I just want to eat all the wrong things but I know I can't but habits are hard to break. And now that I am pregnant I am on a more stricker diet. I am doing what is best for me and my baby but there are times checking my sugars 4x a day even when my levels are good is really a pain in the butt. I just wanted to check in an say hello to you all.

" Eating what you have to will eventually become habit forming and you will find ways of creating food that tastes like the real thing, but I sincerely doubt you will ever get rid of cravings for all the food we used to love. Just keep focus on your new baby and maybe food will be put in the back of your mind. Good luck ! "

" Congratulations on the baby. I hope everything is going well with the pregnancy also. It sounds as though you're doing the right things. Hang onto that. There is a lot of temptation out there, but you've got a great prize to keep your eye on. It's not easy to stop you're busy with to check blood sugar multiple times a day and count carbs and do all the other things we have to do with this diease and it's easy to want to pig out on all the things we need to avoid. The good news is that there really are some good things to eat out there that don't taste as though they're part of some medically induced diet composed of boredom and cardboard. You just have to shop and cook carefully. We know you can do it. "
