yet another study has concluded that ace inhibitors (lisinopril, accupril, zestril, etc) can delay the onset of diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease..) in patients with type II diabetes and no previous kidney disease. They can also improve all-cause mortality in those pts with type II diabetes and nephropathy...not on an ace already? ask your doc if its for you...

My family practice physician has had me on minimum dose (5mg q.d.) quinapril (accupril) ever since my \"transitional\" period into DM-II.

My brother & I both Diabetic,both with Pernicious Anemia, both allergic to Aspirin,both have had a life threatening reactions to Ace inhibitors.
Not everyone can take them. Sincerely, Snow Owl

Is it any use for someone who had numbness starting nearly 10 years before their blood sugar rose above normal levels? Will it prevent increase in neuropathy?
