I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of or suffer from NDL. It is a skin condition that usually appears on the lower legs or feet. It is associated with Type 2 diabetes.

" Necrobiosis Lipodica Diabeticorum (NLD): NDL is more or less similar to diabetic dermopathy. The spots are less in this case but of bigger sizes. If the spot cracks open, it is a cause of concern requiring medical treatment. "

" Necrobiosis Lipodica Diabeticorum is the offical name. I have this condition. It was how I found out I had diabetes. It is very unsitely and very painful. And there is virually no treatment. You can google "Necrobiosis Lipodica Diabeticorum" and you will get a lot of hits. I had just been wondering if anyone here has that condition as well. supposedly oly .3% of diabetics get it. "

" There is a good article (case study) at: http://dermatology.cdlib.org/133/c... Although it is titled "...not associated with Diabetes" it does give a good explanation and also relates how it is not limited just to diabetics. It shows a picture as well. "
