So what IS a good number?!?!

My sugar levels ran around 105-130 BEFORE medication. Now they are running from 170-200+
and my (then) docter told me 73 was NORMAL and
"alright" (to which I said "No;no it is not!" and
that she needed to experience a rapid drop in BS!)
And I'm on EffexorXR, which I understand makes your BS run a bit higher anyway. In viewing the discussions here and talking to friends, I'm seeing/hearing all kinds of numbers and they're all considered "normal". So what IS a good number?

" The normal range for people who do NOT have diabetes is 70-140. If your body is used to a certain range and suddenly goes lower, even if it is only dropping into the normal range, you will feel lousy for a while until you get used to it. Stick with it and you will start to feel better. "

" If that's the case, then my BS
levels were fine and I didn't need any meds at all! This makes me really upset because now I DO have a hard time getting sugar levels down!
BTW...cinnimon is helpful, as is wine vinegar. "

" This is an interesting question! When I was first dx'd a little over a year ago, I was first told that it should have it between 90-140...HOWEVER,my physician wants it between 80-120 throughout the day...I only have to test 2x/day, except when I get shaky or other symptoms occur then I test immediately. There are different numbers for different people. Wish you all the best and I am on here when I have the time to be to support you and others. Read my profile for more information about my T2 Diabeties.

" I just saw my new Doc today and
posed this question to him. He
said that he sees normal levels
as from 90-120. Above 125 is considered borderline, and over
155/160 is high BS. (These are all levels after fasting) Has anybody else been given different advice? "

" As of Monday I was told "normal" blood sugar for T2 is 80-140. PREFERRED is 80,-,110. A1C is "normal" between 6 & 7.5. Again PREFERRED is below 6.5. my A1C is running 7.3, Blood sugars 86 - 165. MUCH stress in my life, who knew blood sugars could change because of so much stuff? "
