Blurred Vision

Was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about 2 weeks ago. My blood sugars at that point were in the high 300s (even up to 460). I am scared to death now because my near vision especially (for reading/typing, etc)is very blurred.

I am told that the lens of the eye can swell with diabetes and that things will get back to normal with time. Any thoughts on this??

Glucovance is also giving me lots of bad GI side effects. Doctor says this will go away with time.

Any thought or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Ruth

" Ruth when I was first diagnosed with diabetes and put on meds my vission got soo bad that I had to take off work because I could not read the computer screen. But when my meds started regulating my BS my vision went back to normal. That was about 5 years ago and I still have 20/20 vision. Give it a little time and follow the doctors instructions.
Hope this helps... HUGS.. "

" My eye specialist told me to get some cheap readers from the dollar store. It's alot cheaper than a pair of perscription lenses that might need changed every few months. "

" Good luck on the Glucovance. The metformin gave me terrible gastric distress, and it never went away. Even though it did a good job lowering my BS, I had to ultimately switch meds. "
