has anyone found a solution that worked as Ive spent loads on all kinds of foot pads only to find Im no nearer to finding any relief.
Just thought I may well have overlooked something that could be helpful. Mainly its in my right foot and feels like Ive got stones in my shoe or crumpled up paper and its driving me nuts now,so any suggestions welcomed. Posted on 09/07/09, 07:09 am |

If its neuropathy ala ( alpha lipoic acid) is the only thing google tells me.
If it is diminished oxygen supply I would take gingo biloba, another remedy is I gm vit c lysine , proline (amino acids)( for the proline I use 2 tbsp gelatin, lysine is 1 1/2 gms more is better.) and green tea at bedtime 1 gm vit c upon awakening and do not eat for 2 hour Neuropathy should present with a tingling feeling like the foot has gone to sleep oxygen supply is hypoxia a narrowing of the capillaries without the never damage.

Let me explain myself:
My suggestion comes from my own experience and has nothing to do with diabetes. It comes from a lifetime of smoking, After 43 years of smoking I developed peripheral arterial disease this is what I used to ameliorate my condition. I have no idea if it will work on capillaries its just a guess. Vit C has been shown to remove sorbitol one of the factors contributing to retinopathy (eyes) but Vit C and glucose have such a similar chemical make up and use the same transport (insulin) that it is difficult for us to get good levels that's why bedtime and morning no food for two hours but its just a guess.

The only permanent solution is to get your BS down into the normal range and keep it there. Meanwhile, use that leg! Use exercise and especially yoga to restrore circulation and rebuild the nerve endings. I do not have neuropathy but alpha-lipoic acid is supposed to help. Or you can go to your doc and get a prescription for Neurontin.

Neuropathy may also be helped by B compex vitamins, supposedly cannot find any clinical trials.
It does however work for sure on nerve damage I injured a nerve in my wrist and the Dr. suggested it to me it worked. Neuropathy(diabetic) is the mylein(sp) sheath around the nerve I take it it is water soluble so no problem in taking too much. reply #2 Vit C has been shown to remove sorbitol one of the factors contributing to retinopathy (eyes) but Vit C and glucose have such a similar chemical make up and use the same transport (insulin) that it is difficult for us to get good levels that's why bedtime and morning no food for two hours but its just a guess I may have found another piece to puzzle Quercetin

Have you spoken to your doctor about this? It could be a number of things. Neuropathy, gout, circulation issues, fascitis, etc. Are you experiencing any dry skin, blistering, bunions or other foot changes?
