Advice:
Lisinopril

Hi folks,

My blood pressure is on the high side of normal. Doc has started me on Lisinopril... started about a week ago.

I've got the cough that the doc said I'd probably get. It's slight and not overly annoying. However, I have felt really tired since starting it. My blood sugars are a little higher, and I haven't lost an ounce of weight.

I have maintained my exercise schedule and also am eating the way I'm suppose to.

It's only been a week... am I over-reacting? Too focussed on this? I'm scheduled to go in to get a quick check in 2 weeks. I'm thinking I should calm down and see what happens during the next two weeks.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Lily

" I would wait to see how your check up goes. Remember to tell the Dr about all your symptoms. The meds can always be changed to something else. Good Luck "

" My blood pressure was a little high and my endo put me on Lisinopril. I took it for five days and had to be taken off of it. I had some pretty icky side effects and my heart would pound. They switched me to Ziac, which has a diuretic in it and it's been a real blessing. Good luck!! "

" I have been on Lisinopril for over ten years. Doc gave it to me to protect my kidneys. I had side effects at first but they calmed after a short time. I still get pounding in my ears and sometimes my pulse races. On the bright side, my kidney function is perfect. "

" Thanks everyone for you advise. I'm actually starting to feel a bit better. The cough is abating and my energy is coming back. It's been about 10 days now. "
