So my best friend, Brandon, is on dialysis now. I try to remain positive and encouraging for his sake. However, I'm scared to death of the unknown, and terrified of losing him. He doesn't talk about the diabetes much, I knew him for a year before I found out he had it. He tries to be more open now, but he doesn't want me to worry. I hate seeing him so weak. He has no energy and is unable to do most of the things he used to enjoy. He has been there for me so much lately since I was recently diagnosed Bipolar. I don't know what to do, besides love him?

" I don't believe so because the diabetes would just damage new kidneys. Other organs are also damaged by diabetes as well, liver, pancreas, heart. I know he has a bad heart. It took me thirty years to find the love of my life, hard to accept the reality of losing him. I feel that a few years spent with my soulmate is far better than if I'd never known him. Only God knows what the future holds for us. I'll just treasure the time we have. "
