lactose intolerance + type 1

Hi, TypeOnes.
I just got a diagnosis of lactose intolerance, which completely makes sense because my youghurt was starting to cause way-too-frequent diarrhea in the morning and tours to Japan always give me the wonderful feeling of being superhealthy.
My challenge now: I feel much more overwhelmed trying to find no-milk food ("everything" contains milk in my part of the world!) than I was ages ago, when having to think no-sugar/correct carbs. OK, I am getting used to the latter.
Is anybody out there having the same combination? Do you have any good ideas about varied meals, how far you can go in having one and the same meal for the family, ways to fast-fooding, which ingredience-listings to trust/be sceptical, etc. etc.? I appreciate every answer.
