Very short-term double vision..

I have been diabetic for about 14 years. In just the past year and half or so I've been having episodes of double vision. I figured it has to be related to my blood sugar, though it's not all that low when these episode happen. Generally it has been no lower than 40's or 50's. Other times I have been lower than that with no change in vision. Every time this happens I feel tired suddenly. A couple of times I have had a very small snack (and once no snack) and then laid down and napped. When I woke up I felt fine.
Has anyone else experienced this? It's very unnerving to me, and dangerous if I need to drive, as happened last night.

" I find my vision is affected when I have a low blood sugar. I get spots though not double vision. I have been told by my GP that this is pretty normal. 40-50 mg/dl converts to 2.2-2.7 mmol/l which is very low as far as I am concerned and I would be worried about not eating with a level this low. So basically as far as I know vision changes can be a side effect when having a hypo. I find my hypo symptoms can vary. "

" Yes, when I get a low blood sugar level, my eyes tend to play up. "

" Thank you guys! It's good to hear that! It's pretty creepy sometimes when I'm not sure if something is caused by my diabetes or something else. "
