Hi there,

I am newly diagnosed with diabetes and wondered what people use to take there insulin pens and blood glucose meters around with them. I have a small man bag but its not great!

Does everyone have a special carry case for all there bits or do you just carry them loose in your pockets?

If anyone has any links to sites they have bought them from I would love to have a look.

Thanks

Phil

" Hi vage

I haven't got around to getting one case for everything. I have my meter in its case and a separate one for my pen. But I have heard good things about these people: http://www.desang.net/

A cheaper option is a pencil case. Also I keep my jelly babies for hypos in a small bathroom bag which I got in a chemist. "

" Being a female diabetic I lucked into having a purse is okay! :-D

Now one guy at work who is on an insulin pump as well and carries back up supplies for everything simply carries an extra insulated lunch bag every where he goes.

The second guy I know always wears cargo pants because of the extra pockets to carry it all in.

And the third guy I know has equipment everywhere along with bottles of insulin everywhere marked with a sharpie as to when he first opened it. I mean it's in his desk at work, they are in his car, his gym bag, on counters at home. It's nuts but it works for him. I think he said at one time he had 12 meters! I yi yi!

Sorry I haven't seen any with more manly cases! "
