I don't had diabetes but a friend does... and starting yesterday night he stopped taking his insulin... he wants to die and I need to know how long he will last before I absolutely have to get more people involved then there already is...

I don't need to know that I should have him get therapy... you don't understand the situation...

All I need to know to base my decision on... is how long do I have?

" Depends on the insulin he's taking. If he uses a pump and takes fast acting insulin (Lispro/Humalog/Novalog) he could be seriously ill within 6 hours. If there is longer-acting insulin in his system, (NPH/lente/etc.) more like 1-3 days. Six days without insulin - then your friend is definitely looking at possible permanent damage - coma, brain damage, death. It would be an awful way to die. "
