I don't had diabetes but a friend does... and starting yesterday night he stopped taking his insulin... he wants to die and I need to know how long he will last before I absolutely have to get more people involved then there already is...
I don't need to know that I should have him get therapy... you don't understand the situation... All I need to know to base my decision on... is how long do I have? Posted on 05/12/07, 10:05 am |

... tonight I will get help if he doesn't listen to me... I guess it has come to this... I'll sacrifice my friendship with him by getting help if that is what it takes...

Tell him he's noot the only one, whoom has felt that digusted about thier diabetes. Talk to someone. Just don't give up,Your not alone.

it depends also how he eats,if he is eating alot of sugar he could get worse. I do hope u can help him out.good luck

Depends on the insulin he's taking. If he uses a pump and takes fast acting insulin (Lispro/Humalog/Novalog) he could be seriously ill within 6 hours. If there is longer-acting insulin in his system, (NPH/lente/etc.) more like 1-3 days. Six days without insulin - then your friend is definitely looking at possible permanent damage - coma, brain damage, death. It would be an awful way to die.

i your friend stops taking it the best way to do is take your friend to the hospital!!
