Coul treatment for meningitis be cause of lipomas?

I have not been definately diagnosed with Dercums yet. But more than likely I will. I am young for this disease I know. However, I have read somewhere that studies has linked corticosteroids with lipomas...?? I had spinal meningitis when i was 3 months old. They used experimental drugs on me. (I have been trying to find out exactly what drugs.) Anyway, I believe mengitis is now treated with coticosteriods for the inflammation. So maybe then too. Since pain started at age 8 and onset of other symptoms by age 28 that interfered with daily life. My thoughtas are could this be why I started hurting or symptoms at such a young age? I am well aware I can not be diagnosed here or any and all info is opinions. But I am curious as to others thoughts on this.

Hi elch, Already been down that road. Had the biopsy 6 years ago. Have had more and more lumps show up. Only dx I have so far is Fibromyalgia an Cfs. Have moved recently and closer to bigger cities and hopefully more capable doctors. Will more than likely be dx with the Dercums. Have had the lumps about 8 years now. Chronic pain, cfs, strange nerve sensations with shooting pains, hurts to be touched especially with fingertips... on and on and on . You know how it goes. Not enough lines to continue the forever list of symptoms.

I had meningitis in Oct. 95' and then March 96'. I started coming down with strange things right before that, regarding my health.
I don't remember what they treated me with, besides antibiotics and pain meds, but I remember the lumps on my ribs began to hurt around 2000, or 2001. Now, they're in a lot more places, and a lot more painful.
