I just don't know what to do, the people I called my friends since middle school(I'm an on coming Senior) have been for the past year and a half are just excluding me from everything they do, to be honest though I would rather be by myself than to have fake friends. That for the most part I can deal with, but being alone most of the time with no one to talk to or for someone to like me for me is what I'm having trouble with. What do I do? I feel like I have no true friends left and I don't feel that connected with my family, so I'm left by myself with my thoughts that nobody cares about me. I'm only 17 so is this whole feeling of loneliness normal?

Charlie, high school is tough. You've obviously gone through a lot with these people, so I can't tell you why your friends are acting that way, only you can make assumptions about that. However, you can talk to them. Ask them what's up.
When it comes to loneliness, it's kinda normal. It's normal, but it shouldn't be, if you know what I mean. Personally, I have no friends where I live now, and I only talk to my mom and my friends from my previous high school. We've only got one year, and then it's a fresh start. That may help, I hope it does. You can always talk to us if you need to. Silver

I lost all my friends going in to high school, it was really hard to wonder if there was something wrong with me. I am 17 and going to be a senior too. Yes it is very normal, when I was going in to high school, the students showed us around(orientation) they told us that by the time were seniors none of our friends will be the same. They also said not to go into trigonometry high lol or was it calculus?lol. I recently started having some old friends and some new people approach me and ask for my number. So now I'm not as scared to do that to people.

I had this same problem in high school. My 'friends' spread rumours about me and then I was left to 'fend' for myself.
I know how difficult it must be and I can sympathise with your lonliness. But try to be strong. Don't let this lonliness lead you to bad mistakes or things you'll regret. If they are true friends they will realise how stupid/immature they are and come around - if you forgive them is another matter, but nobodys perfect. and sometimes it takes one person to say something, then everyone repeats it - or a action like this exclusion. Have you tried talking to them? or making new friends? I know how difficult it is but maybe new friends, and a fresh start in the social world is what you need? Don't let yourself be lonley for too long and be strong!

Confront these friends, and let them know how you're feeling. Ask them why they're excluding you, or even if they're doing it on purpose. Depending on what answers you get, try and seek out new friends in your school. Sometimes, we may feel very alone, but in reality, we never are. You just have to look around.

Well my friends treat me like shit, but they don't exclude me. They always judge me and put me down, I hate it. I would say find new friends but if your anything like me then that's not easy. You should confront them about it.
