I am in physical pain! I took a 2 hour trip to visit my relatives yesterday, dressed in an orange furry pumpkin suit w a green felt beanie w twirlie bird hat, stood for 3 hours watching kids bounce on blow up deals in a noisy gymnasium!! The energy was crazy and really loud. Then pushed a grocery cart w my 5 year old nephew and bolts of fabric thru Joann's, stood for 2 hours longer waiting for an available clerk, walking up and down all the aisles.
We put together a phone board, my finger got in a fight w a hot glue gun, blister, sat in uncomfortable chairs all day. Woke up this morning and my entire body is SCREAMING. Why do I do this to myself, knowing that I will feel bad the next day and then sit around exhausted all day, accomplishing nothing but rest? I miss the days of type A, physical exertion, and being able to do more.
Anyne out there relate to this? Please send words of support or I told you so's...LOL

" Sorry, no I-told-you-sos from me, just support and sympathy. A cup of hot tea and some relaxing music seem to be called for. Take it easy, and hopefully you made yourself some nice memories to look back on.

And then, once you're relaxed, I need to see a photo of you in a pumpkin suit with a twirlie bird hat!! "

" I heeded your advice, I JUST showered, have been in the lazy boy ALL DAY, did some laundry, gotta have clean clothes for work this week. It's a jeans/pink shirt week in memory of breast cancer. Slept a lot except for when my husband kept calling me on his cell phone...didn't answer it but it still woke me up. Cats are hangin low w me. Chronic fatigue is the pitts and it seems I'm powerless over it, just am trying to learn how to do less...I'm so type A...One more week and today my husband surprised me w the news that he has arranged a limo to pick us up for a trip to Maui for a week Nov 1st! Calgon take me away. Free tickets...yeah! Gotta get a virtual tan for vanity's sake. Love you guys, thanks for the kudos, feel happier already! "

" This isn't exactly an I-told-you-so but I've been going through a really bad depression set off by working for 4 months solid away from home, with very few days off (yes 7-10 days at a time without a break) 12-15 hour days. In a way, I thrive on the energy of knowing I can handle that kind of routine. But I was always exhausted and longed for a few weeks to just be lazy. Unfortunately, that time didn't come soon enough and I got very ill. I had to cancel the next several weeks of work. I tried to go back after two weeks, but then relapsed.

The hard lesson I learned is that if I don't balance myself and make a change on a very basic level by realizing my limitations, I will keep going and burning out. The cycle will not change itself.

My doctor actually put me on Nuvigil since I've been so low energy. I hear from others it helps quite a bit with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Perhaps ask your doctor about it? But this doesn't give you license to keep going until you're in pain ;)

Good luck. "

" Thanks for sharing your story w me..I saw a specialist for fibro and CF..he's got me on female bio identical hormones, b12 shots 3 times a week,3 other kinds of B, D drops, multi vitamins, cortisol, fludrocortisone, and I seem to have more energy when I follow thru w them, plus when I'm tired I tend to not take care of myself w good food choices, so I may have some issues w carbs...oh and E and C and Omegas..also thyroid meds..there's a compilation of things that are causing my low energy..I'll research that drug, you're so right about slowing down. I do the same thing..I love the days I feel like I have lots of motivation and then I also crash, having to rest for days on end. I couldn't do what you do at work that's for sure..thanks for the support, it all helps.
