Have dep. & BP. Worried my girls are also effected. Mainly my 12 yr. old. She doesn't want to talk to counsilor! Not sure what to do. She's incredibly smart, good in school(grades).Very talented. Just don't want to see her travel the dark & lonely path I did.

You're the Mom. Take her. She doesn't have to like it for it to do some good.

I agree. I would just schedule an appt and take her. If she doesn't talk, keep taking her anyways. The counselor probably has encountered this before. She/he will sooner or later get her to talk.

I would think it's normal for a child not to want to talk to a counselor and that child counselors are trained to deal with this issue. They play games and have a fun relationship so the children warm up to them eventually. My son has benefitted greatly from counseling for his depression. I am happy to see him healthier.
