Anyone here been on Pristiq? How were the side effects for you? My doctor prescribed it to me to start after a month of counseling, if things don't look up.

I've been on a few different kinds of antidepressants. They mostly worked for a while and then like an antibiotic - lose their kick because my body adjusts to them.

Comments welcome :)

" Pristiq aka desvenlafaxine is the active metabolite of Effexor. If you have tried Effexor with no success then Pristiq will not work either. Like heartland mentioned, there are some withdrawal symptoms if you miss a day. I take Effexor, which converts into Pristiq in the body. Big pharma's way to extend their drug patents... "Lets just patent the ACTIVE metabolite of our first antidepressant!" Just like Celexa turned into Lexapro... Big Pharma should start releasing the SNDRIs already... "
