I just started with a casemanager and a dr and I'm feeling wronged the dr's don't listen to you. You just say one word and they slap meds on you and for the caseworker,I was susposed to see her Wed so she could take me to pay my rent about 1:oo. I was gone and just got in about maybe 12:30 or so and then 1 rolled around and I sat there having a panic attack then later and later it got till I looked at my cell phone that was in my purse and the vol was full blast and I seen where she called at 12 but she didn't leave a voice or tex mess saying she couldn't come. I know she might be busy but in the past with caseworkers they always called me back either that day or the next and I've left mess and no call backs and I even wrote her a letter and put it on her desk. I feel she is making me worse by making my worring and panic attacks worse. She's nice but don't call. I know I've just started but it's not susposed to be like this. I was out of meds fri and she has never called to see if I'm dead or ok or anything. If I hadn't called the center to ask if she set me up a dr's appt I would have never known it untill maybe she came to my door cause she has to take me there. I don't know what else to do. I feel like telling them to creep off.!!

I have also just started with a new dr and new med. It's rather tough when there's no family to help out with things. Case managers are pretty good for listening but they don't seem to really be able to do much else..(don't know the ins and outs of finding low income apts, etc.) I say it's time those of us with mental challenges got together and built our own communities and ran our own business...but wait, we're challenged, remember?
That was some sarcasm, but sometimes, this is how I feel.

You can probably ask to be assigned to another case manager. I think you have grounds to justify a switch.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a difficult time with your doctor as well as your case manager. I'm a social worker and my advice is to calmly speak to your case manager's superior and explain the situation. It's your right to request a change. You mentioned that your social worker is nice, but not effective. She might have way too many cases to handle which is unfortunate and I wouldn't take her lack of help personally. With that said, you have to take care of yourself so see if you can work with another person in the agency as soon as possible. Best of luck.

You could maybe ask to speak to your case worker's supervisor with her and get this all clear up. I hope it works for you!

They finally called me the other day cause I left a message and said if something was to happen to me it's going to be on you all and you are causeing me more stress than what I have. She put in a request for me to have another casemanager and now I have to wait to see who that will be and here since it's a small town they only have maybe 5 casemanagers. The one I had lives in Nashville and worked at a big place there why can't they send some of them to lighten the loads?
