Wellbutrin and Ativan

The psychiatrist recommended by my family doctor put me on wellbutrin after my stroke. She said that depression is common after a stroke. (DUH?!?!) Now after finding out that me younger son has pancreatic cancer she added Ativan to my cocktail of pills (also taking neurotin, lortab, ibuprofen, coumadin, etc., etc.)

My question about Ativan--is it good to add to this mix? All it seems to do is make me sleepy and knock me out for a couple of hours. Is that what it is suppose to do?

" I took Ativan and the desire to sleep went away in a short time. I actually liked it, as it relieved anxiety. YOu are probably exhausted from the stress of everything happening, so it would be normal to sleep when the anxiety leaves until you catch up on your rest.

If it continues, you can ask for a lower dose. "
