I was thinking (a dangerous habit, I know).....
Do you think porn has increased the incidence of rape on females in society, or do you think that porn has prevented rape from occurring....? Men looking at porn is so prevalent that it makes a person wonder..... They do it from adolescence through adulthood and into old age even!! I mean, I am female, and have seen my share of porn....all of the specific deviances and intermixing of gender and race, and even species!...I've seen it all I guess.... but I kinda got over it. I still watch something now and then...I have my sexual fantasies....but I don't need to watch it like a majority of men do. Anyway, back to my original question.....do you think it contributes to sexual crimes? ......or do you think that it is an outlet for men to release those urges? Thanks for considering. rape is rape... i think porn prevents a lot of unwanted pregnancies. i dont think it prevents or promotes rape. even deceiving events in porn, dont have the means to encourage rape. thats something someone does on their own.

i don't think it does, even with all the fetishes. it's just fantasy fulfillment. rape, on the other hand, has a lot to do with a feeling of power & control (take treatment of POW's worldwide, for example), not just a over-active libido and demented sexual fantasies. rape is just pure violence. porn is more about fantasies and getting off. i suppose guys watch porn more because they're visually driven more so than women.

I think a lot of rapists watch porn. I think there are a lot more people (men and women) who watch porn who are not and never will be rapists.
I agree porn is more apealing to men than women but that MIGHT be because the industry has marketed more to men than women.. though there have been 'ventures' where porn producers have tried to market 'porn for women' and they have not greatly succeeded. Men are always 'looking' at/for the sexuality of women .. be it a tight dress, makeup, cleavage, or hardcore porn. It is natural for them to be interested. It is SO natural, it can become extreme .. and porn is reaching into the extreme. So it makes sense to me that men are more interested in porn than women.

Low cases of teenage pregnancies and rape. both have access to hardcore porn and prostitutes.

As much as I loathe and despise porn I am hard pressed to actually say it increases the incidents of rape. I think if someone has the propensity to rape, it wouldn't matter whether they watched porn or Bugs Bunny....they are going to rape someone.
To me it's like blaming music/tv for violence....IMO that's bullshit. The individual committing the violent act is most certain to be a violent person no matter what they watch or play. Good topic hon {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

I think it depends on the age of the man. A young man or early teens may not be as capable at self control as an older man. Also, the older man may have a full time sex partner to fulfill his fantasies. This does not mean that I think every young man watches porn. But, it could be a possible catalyst to the ones pron to rape anyway.
