This is intended in a positive manner with honesty and openness about an alternative religion. Too many people have misconceptions about Satanism. I hope you are respectful to this not-so-well-known take on religion.
1.) The Satanist simply accepts the definition (of god) which suits him best. Man has always created his gods, rather than his gods creating him. To the Satanist "God"...is seen as the balancing force in nature, and not as being concerned with suffering. 2.) To love all people is not only a philosophical mistake but is in fact impossible and even damaging to the ability to truly love those few individuals who deserve it. 3.) The term "psychic vampire" was first written about in the satanic bible. We use it here in the depression forum often. Did any of you know where you were quoting it from? 4.) The Hebraic origin of the word "Satan" as a term to mean "adversary", not only applied to a supernatural being but to any person who is your opponent. as far as i understand it satanists are pretty atheistic and something quite different from devil worshippers. i read some sort of satanic bible years ago by a guy called anton lavey and he seemed a bit of a dick to be honest

Have you seen any Satanic worshipping? Known a Satanist?
Seen one having a fit as Satan takes over the body? I knew one when she was in her early 20's. I was only 27, we both had a full water baptism, she renounced Satan and was filled with the Love of her Saviour.

actually yes, i have known several satanists. not one of them has ever tried to call a diety into themselves as it is quite foolish to try be it god or satan. all the ones i know are much more like rainer described.

I am glad this is not in there since the first poster does not understand. I will add: 5. SATANISM is NOT ATHEISM.
I am an atheist and we do not believe in ANY DEITY, so by that, Satan is out of the picture too. So is Zues, Allah and any other of the thousands of dreamed up gods over history. It is Anton LaVey and he IS a Satanist. He is everything atheists are not. Even though he is a very intelligent man, I think most of his "fame" time is to just upset the Christians. I really don't think he believes it, but I have been wrong before.

Again, I'm not a satanist. I'm just offering information on a topic.
Richard, you are correct. Satanism is not the same as atheism. There are many differences, just as there are differences between atheism and humanism. I think the next post I make will be about humanism, as that is what we are currently discussing in theology class.
