" They do have their own site, I don't know why they use this group. I try not to give adult advice to young people. You never know what could happen. There is always to sides for everything and we don't know the parents part. If it was my kid and some adult was talking to, her on the internet......................there would be hell to pay. "

" I'm not saying anyone is harming the kids on here. I would just rather be safe than sorry. I will say that we have some pretty smart young people in this group. A few have fooled me into thinking they were grown. "

" Maybe they come here instead of/in addition to the teen site because they do want some adult opinions.

I had great parents, but I was so afraid of disappointing them or upsetting them that there were a lot of things I couldn't discuss with them. It was very helpful to have some other adults that I could trust.

When I'm talking with a teen, I try to keep foremost in my mind what I would want someone to say to my child, if my child were asking the questions. I try to be very careful to not criticize the child's parents or say the parents are wrong, because you're right, we don't know the whole story.

I was reported to CPS once when my daughter was 15. Someone said I was "holding her against her will." Yeah, I was. No 15-year-old girl needs to be leaving her home at 3 am to get in a car with some half-drunk 23-year-old man. "

" HeartQueen makes a very good point; relating to a teenager on an adult level can be very dangerous, especially to teens under the age of consent who really need parental or guardian permission to take advice we may give them while under the impression that they are over 21.

So please, people, you need not give your accurate age. But do let us know if you are under 18 or over 21.

And if you are considering a run for US President please let us know if you are over 35 or not! "

" maybe you'd like the oppinion of a teenager as to why some of us use both groups?

The reason anyone uses this site is to get help, often because they can't get it from other places. Well teenagers have even fewer people to talk to, and in some cases (including mine) they're own parents either don't know or don't care about their problems. And being a teenager, your friends around you tend to be of similar ages and sometimes you need help, real help and sometime adults have the answers that kids don't, so you come here seeking help. Don't turn us away, we're not trying to cause trouble or annoy you, sometimes we just need the advice of someone older. "

" you're welcome here any time, all the time, in my opinion. It's been a long time since I was a teenager, but not so long that I don't remember what it was like. it makes me feel good to think that a young person today would value my opinion and thoughts. I always wanted more children in addition to the two I have, so talking to other teens sort of lets me be a little bit of a "part-time" parent. "
