Yeah MM they talked about that in the article I just saw the movie myself on Saturday and I have to say I was wishing there was a real place like that But I was also astounded at the Special Effects and how I had read that they were so seamless that It DID look real.

wow.......now that is interesting to me. i have seen it twice and can't say as i have had to battle depression caused by the movie. although i would like to live on Pandora, i do realize IT IS A MOVIE!!!! i mean come on. the only depressing thing about that movie is that humans are such pieces of shit in it. fantasy is a great form of escapism but after the 2:40 it's time to go back to the real world. and be grateful for the 2:40 that i didn't have to live in the real world.

I saw a lot of parallels between it and the coming of Europeans to America. And I also saw the very real Statement of the plight of our planet in the hands of Corporate jackasses.

you know, i was thinking the same thing - but i think the parallel will be missed by most of these people....... they don't seem to me like the brightest bulb on broadway...

I know I did think several times during the movie how a place like that was too beautiful for words.

I dont know, the cinematography and special effects were superb, but the storyline was a direct ripoff of the cultural between native americans and white settlers. Frankly I've have much more to be depressed enough in the real world than in a fantasy one. Maybe because I also have been a long time reader of Scifi/fantasy and have become inured to these effects.

i thought the film was phenomenal.....but depressed? suicidal??

The one time a film such as this really affected was Close Encounters. I wanted to be on that Mothership when it left so bad I could taste it
