I am sorely tempted to go and try to get a job at one of the many stores whose employees will be on strike shortly in my local area.
Two major grocery stores (union members) are going to strike...it looks imminent anyway. that's a lot of positions that'll need to be filled in order to operate for these stores...... My conscience is tapping on the front of my skull though, when I consider it. Would it be wrong to take advantage of this possible opportunity? Posted on 11/08/09, 08:11 pm |

1Sickofit said it all perfectly!!
Unions are no longer to protect the worker, but to protect the Union officials. My sister was in a union her entire working life. Her paycheck was at the whim of the union bosses even when she was happy as a clam w/ her job and benefits. I hope you get the job, show the boss there what a good catch of an employee you are, and are able to make it permanent. I truly feel for any union member out there whose position may be filled, but their union is to blame -- not the people who need work and are willing to work. Go for it and best of luck!!
