I went into therapy four years ago to deal with the PTSD from being repeatedly raped as a child. I was absolutely suicidal and had no option.

I was diagnosed with the PTSD, clinical depression and general anxiety disorder. That was a lot to take in.

I feel I have dealt with the abuse issues, but I find myself high and dry with the depression. And, due to economic conditions, I can no longer be in therapy. My experience with anti-depressants has left me less than hopeful as the side effects are overwhelming from just about everything I have tried. And the anxiety. Let's not discuss that or you will think I am truly nuts.

I don't know what to do. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

" I don't think you are truely nuts. When i developed anxiety, I thought I was going to freak out at my new job. All the girls were sitting around just talking naturally, and I thought I was going to just flip out. I was just thinking, "Don't show it, don't show it." I just wanted to flip out for no reason. So, I got up and made myself busy, and it subsided. But, it was weird. I hadn't been working in over a year because i was in school. So, being out was new to me. I just want you to know, other people go through anxiety too.

" If you can no longer afford to pay a therapist, but you feel you still need a professional to guide you in the healing process, you should look into whether or not there are any community mental health associations in your area. These types of places often employ social workers, psychologists and other professionals who will work with you either for free or on a sliding rate scale according to income.

Otherwise, just keep on hanging in there.. I really don't know what else to say.. "

" ive also tried many meds without success. have you tried any herbs, amino acids, other things used in an alternative therapy approach? there are several things ive tried, again they work better on some than others. i am working on putting together a list of alternatives i know of, i lost my original . i also have anxiety problems, and found passion flower somewhat useful with that. there are some other homeopathic things also that do help. ive tried a couple that did help me. i will try to recall them and forward you a list.

i havent tried Sceletium, but have read about it in the past. it sounds like it might worth a try, as it has a rep for enhancing mood and also being relaxing. here is a link to Sceletium, so you may read more on it.

it sounds like you have done come very far, and i congratulate you on your progress. i hope things will even out for you in future. best wishes.

" I feel like I could have written this myself. All the things you said I have experienced. I have applied for disability but know I will be denied but will appeal.
On another thought, I have started therapy at a local Mental Health Center. Check with your county to see if there is one b/c the state should have funds for ppl who can't afford or who don't have insurance. You may also be suffering from borderline personality disorder which is common among survivors of child abuse.
My therapist gave me a link which is www.helpinc.com so maybe you can try this. Hope this helps. "
