I think this is a common occurance w/family members. If they have not experienced it , it's hard for them to understand. I deal w/the same thing w/my son. I hope that if you find an answer to this question you will share it w/me too..praying for you

A very good professional told me that depressing is not something I have; it is something I do. Meaning, I suppose, that it is a defense mechanism, albeit a painful one, that covers up something I can not, or will not deal with. After doing the work, I got behind the depressing, and found a bunch of ptsd issues. Once those were resolved, the depressing stopped. So maybe that will help you. I hope it does.
