really tipping the scales

my life in the last few days has really been on a set of scales.. tipping from one side to the other... and now the final weight has tipped it to the bad side. my grandmother.. my best friend... the one who practically raised me.. is in hospital with pneumonia... its not good.. they have said that this is probably it.. a shock? not really.. shes 92 and has severe dementia... but she is such a tough old girl.. beaten 3 types of cancer.. lost 2 children... lived through wars.. all with a cheeky feisty view on life.. i simply cannot imagine a world that she doesnt exist in..

yes i know that her pain will be eased... her suffering over and that she will be at rest but right now all i can feel is that selfish pain that i will miss her... my son will never remember his great grandmother... never taste her pancakes.. never laugh with her.. god its unfair..

sorry. im just in so much pain and cannot stop crying right now.

" Yeah .............. I know this one too. Been there. These people should be given a live forever ticket. We (the world - the human family) really NEEDS them (especially now), and their influences. What a HUGE void when my Gram passed. I agree, how wonderful for them to not be suffering anymore. I'm all on board with that. But what about US???? Really sorry. This stuff is so hard. KEEP inside you everything she instilled. It's up to you to carry on and share with the world everything she taught you. Hugs!! "

" I'm so sorry. We can know that 92 years is a _ong and rich time on earth, but it's way too short at the same time.

Sometimes it is time, though, and we have to be strong enough to take what we have been given by the person who means so much to us, and permit them to go. Not that it decreases the pain, but it is just what must be done.

My prayers are with you. "
