Celexa Side Effects

Been taking Celexa for a week now. Been experiencing nausea, dry mouth, and the sweats, which I guess are pretty common side effects that should go away eventually. I have also been having very vivid dreams, which I guess is a rare side effect (that isn't even listed on my Celexa paperwork).
I also feel like I'm kind of loosing my mind. I went into my closet to get some shoes out of one of my shoes boxes yesterday and I had this completely "false" memory of something (which was probably me remembering a dream) of my roommate and I discussing how to rearange my closet, shoes, clothes, him asking me questions, me responding. I kinda stood there confused for a minute. Oh dear it's spooky, I know it never happened, but the "false" memory was clear as day. Is anyone else taking Celexa that would like to discuss??? Oh and I forgot to write... my doctor never mentioned to me (bad!), but you should take Celexa with food and A LOT of water. I got so dehydrated the other day I was driving and thought I was drunk, got to work and they tried to send me home because I was white as a ghost and wicked loopy. I drank a few bottles of water and got better REAL quick.

I have been taking Celexa for the last 8 years on and off. I have no noticable side effects from it, but I know it can cause the problems you are having. If it's not agreeing with you then maybe the better option would be to ask you doctor to change your meds to something that you dont react badly to...?

I had terrible side effects with Celexa. I was nauseated (and that's an understatement), panicky sort of..
I was actually on Paxil 40mg..and coming down off of that while going on Celexa. I also had terrible diarrhea. If you haven't been on it long...I would give it a few more days..and then just tell your doctor that you want to come off and try something else. You will most likely need to have to wean off..maybe.

Sounds like it could well be a reaction to the Celexa. Call your doc ASAP, as there are many other drugs that work just as the Celexa does, but may not cause the side effects that you are having.... Don't stop taking it altogether though, without talking to your doc... sometimes we need to "wean off" these kinds of meds... All the best to you...

i was placed on Cymbatha a few months ago and it almost put me in the hospital. i accidentally missed two days of taking it and it threw me in a tailspin.... i had tremors, sweats, brain zaps and heart palpitations. all of this culminated at work while on my job. they almost called 911. i made it home and laid here for days and suffered. i was out of work for a week. i had only taken in for 6 weeks and it did all this to me . felt like my brain was shifting from side to side... then i went to the doctor and he gave me celexa... i didn't take it... i was afraid. i am off all meds and i am suffering depression and afraid to try anything else.... i took prozac for years and it never did me this way, it just stopped working..... wish i could help you more...
