" Hey, that was interesting! thanks.

Much of society is lost to this disease though, because (it seems to me) they don't want to, and will never do the real work toward recovery....remission, being "well" again.

they just wanna take a pill, and then complain that it doesn't work, or that they have to take it forever.

That is pretty well established as the normal chain of events for depressed people.

Not me, oh HELL NO. "

" Well this is it. If you're not making real effort and putting the hard work needed into your recovery then you won't recover.

It really pisses me off when I see those who are steadfastly refusing to try and whining about how bad their lives are.

Try harder!! Depression is fucking hard to deal with and get over. It kills thousands of people each year. It's dangerous and nasty and insidious and if YOU don't make the effort, yes YOU, not your doctor, not your friends, not your family, not your therapist, not your pills, YOU (the afore mentioned people and meds certainly help but YOU are the one who has to do the work) then no you won't get better and you will spend your life whining about how hard life is instead of actually living it.

Rant over. I'm crabby today. Lol. "

" It actually scares me to read things like "But I've changed my meds SO MANY TIMES and I still feel like crap!!" Well!!!! Dump another foreign substance into your body, why don't you? If meds are necessary to even out the chemical imbalance, then use them for that purpose...don't think of them as a cure. They're only PART of the answer...too many rely on them for the whole thing.

It's really scary... "

" Too many expect the easy option then are disappointed when reality sets in.

'Nothing worth having comes easy' is a good one to remember. "
