sitting in this room all alone watching the minutes turn into hours,
blank expression upon my face but i know i will soon be recieving flowers, who could think that in the space of just one month this could all fall apart, i gave you everything but it wasn't good enough and i sold you my heart, a question i often wonder is who actually wants flowers when your dead, i know my time is now up and i'll paint these walls with my blood that is so red, blowing my brains against the ceiling really isn't an option for me here, i want to do this but yet its something so many people these days fear, i plucked up my courage and slowly picked up the razor from the side, now there's only one thing on my mind right now and that is suicide. i was feeling bad that day :\ but im okay now. question though, why do people send flowers when someone dies? i still dont understand it :s Posted on 06/29/09, 08:17 am |

Love your poem hun. Very thought provoking. Don't know about the flowers? I suppose it makes people feel like they are doing something to comfort the family.

The poem is actually good but why don't you right a poem about something that makes you happy, or you enjoy. Part of fighting depression is banishing negative thougts. You have a gift for poetry use it in a positive way. Lot of hugs!!

I think writing about *all of it* is healthy. Feelings are not right or wrong, they just are. Sure, why not write about the positives too - I get that - but, I see writing like this as an expression of feelings. Feelings are not negative. They just are.
I always wondered about the flowers things too. To this day I don't like the smell of roses. When I was little I LOVED the smell of roses. I've been to so many funerals now, I just can't stomach the smell anymore. I won't even buy 'em for Valentine's Day.

I agree Bistro. Sometimes getting the negative feelings down on paper can help us look at them more objectively. Better out than in. It can help you see that you do get through the really difficult times too, when you look back at what you wrote.
