" Celexa and Effexor are pretty different drugs. Celexa and Lexapro are related. Basically, once Celexa's patent ran out and a generic was offered, the company developed Lexapro to get a new patent. My pdoc said something like it's structure is kind of the exact reverse of Celexa.

Anyway, I do know many people who take Celexa and like it.

I have taken both Lexapro and Effexor... Effexor worked better for me but both were helpful. "
