I hate me...

Well, Christmas and New Year were pretty good for me... Had my best friend over from UK. It involved way too much drink (been drunk 9 out of 10 last days), and far too much food. I'm dreading her going back on Wednesday though. I will be back to feeling as though I have nothing, and will be back on my own again constantly.
Recently everyone I know has been asking 'have you put on weight' or 'you've got fatter over xmas'. I just feel so ugly, so gross... I dont even know why I am writing this, I just have no one to talk to.
I know I have life better than so many, and I feel so guilty for complaining, just right now, I am realy, really depressed.

" your not complaining. Your saying how you feel, on a support board. I used to be heavy i had to have surgery to help me, so i know how you feel when someone asks you about your weight. I have a good response to that when someone asks you those questions " could you be anymore rude?" or "have you gotten uglier" i mean it is really rude for people to say stuff like that to you.
Are you in therapy by any chance? It would help you learn how to love yourself. Everyone has something about themselves that they should be proud of. Look within yourself and find that. "

" Thank you everyone for your replies and encouragement... I will take all on board. The majority of my friends out here I know through rugby and/or cricket, where there is a fair amount of banter between us all that really doesn't bother me, or my close friends like Ashli aka MrsBlobby, who replied earlier in this thread... What I took exception to is a bar maid at a bar i used to go to coming up to me and saying,' wow, you have got so 'Englishly fat', what happened, you used to be so handsome', or someone else the other day, who just said, 'but seriously, you have got fu**ing fat recently'... Comments like that have really got to me. I think I will employ the 'have you got uglier' next time someone I don't really know makes a comment :) Also, will start going back to the gym this month. It's just picking myself up to go the first time, then after that I will go almost every day. Thank you all again, your replies are very appreciated "

" Next time someone says something rude about your weight, try:

Why do you ask? then sit back & enjoy them trying to explain LOL "

" I know how you feel. Somehow, the looks I get are just as bad. I moms house and my sister in law looked me up and down...the thoughts were very obvious, not like I need anyone telling me im fat. I know. As far as loving myself...NOT...haven't for many years.

You have alot going for you, don't let this glitch get in the way of your happiness.. After all, it was the holiday. They are to enjoy. "

" I agree with the other posters people who ask are so f***ing rude. I would never say that to soemone. I too am overweight and have gotten bigger over the years, food is my comfort adn I am trult ashamed of myself. However on good days I actually ask myself what the hell difference does it make what i way I am still me and wethe I am heavy or skinny it isn't going to change the type of person I am the only thing it changes is how Ifeel about myself. If you feel you want to lose weight for you than go for it don't do it because of others remarks. Reach out to people they can really help sometimes. good luck "
