THIS IS A SORE SUBJECT FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM IT FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS. BUT I SPEND MUCH MORE TIME WITH MY DAUGHTER NOW. I READ MORE AND I DONT DWELL ON THINGS I CAN NO LONGER CONTROL OR COULDNT CONTROL IN THE FIRST PLACE. IM NO LONGER ASHAMED TO ASK FOR HELP FROM MY SOURCES. MY PRIDE DOESNT HOLD ME BACK NOW FROM ASKING FOR HELP.I SPEND MORE TIME WITH MY BROTHER KEITH AND HIS FAMILY. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOUR DESIRE TO GET BETTER AND LIVE A HAPPIER LIFE. OH YES IF YOU ARE ON MEDS,TAKE THEM AS DESCRIBED.THEY ARE MEANT TO HELP YOU AND WHEN TAKING CORRECTLY THEY WORK. I LOVE YOU ALL.WE ARE ALL FAMILY.

" The coping techniques I've learned throughout the years is to try to remove all sources of negativity, clutter. Wait patiently for a 'commercial break from the depression" (which means a day or moment you feel just a tiny bit better) and DO something, go outside, drive to the nearest park (without a pond if you're suicidal) and sit with a pad of paper and write down something, anything, just relinquish all those thoughts that are rambling in your head.

You should feel a tiny bit more better. so then call someone, particularly someone who's going to take your mind OFF the depression by talking about other things like world events, family gossip etc. I find this soo invigorating, though it may only last for a few hours, if you keep up the routine and turn it into a structured part of your day, you will see some results. Your meds will assist you in making this hapen. Beleive me this is advice from a person who's been in the most frightening and debilitating episodes of depression. There is light at the other end of the tunnel. "
