this weekend has been an umm intersting experience.

the CL's that we have do a fantstic job, however we can not expect them to be on 24/7, we all know that we need more of them, but how bout some moderators as well.....not sure how it would work.....say 3 or 4 from all the different times zones so that the board is covered.

when a new person joins and tried to put up a post, it should first go to a moderator, that way it can be removed if it is a direct attack on anyone. the moderators would control that side of it....after the person has been here for say 2 weeks after thier initial post then they get off probation...

any thoughts on this?

was thinking if there is enough support, writing a formal email to DS new owners asking them to take this possibility into consideration.

" I am new, so I cannot say how the probation thing would work. I will say that I am glad that I was able to post right off. I wanted to introduce myself, and let it be known that I am willing to be friends with anyone. At least if they are nice. Now I must ask, what is a troll? "

" Thank you kittericken for the snippet of DS information. I assure you that I am not a troll, and they aren't very nice people in my eyes then. I will do my best to avoid such people. "

" pointless reply.

be nice if we had advanced members. people that have been here for like a year or more. that don't have any offenses and a clear record should have the ability to hide a post for a CL to approve for whether it gets removed or returned. the posts dont get deleted, but theyre no longer on the boards for users to see. only admin and CL can see them, for like 3 hours, then if no CL removes it, it returns to the main boards, with the hide feature removed for no one else can hide it, since its already been approved for viewing. even if 100 advanced members abused this feature, it would still be easy for CL/admin to still just scan through topics. plus they could then just remove the advanced member to an average member.
I have another forum that I can do this on, and it seems to work out 100%. if an advanced member abuses the feature, they get removed to an average member. most advanced members dont abuse it though, because they can then apply to be a Mod or site editor. "
