Anyone done this? I think I just did but I'm not sure. It took me ages to get the sense to wake myself up

" I used to have lucid dreams every night. I was so thankful when they gave me sleeping aids and when I took those I did not dream at all (or don't remember dreaming).
Through EMDR therapy I was able to cope with the things that were haunting me. These days I am medication-less and I sleep very well at night. "

" A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress, also known as a conscious dream. When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream.

A lucid dream can begin in one of two ways. A dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes that he or she is dreaming, while a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state with no apparent lapse in consciousness. "

" dreaming when you know you're having a dream and its not real. I dreamt I panicked about my dad finding my razors (even though I don't have tons of used razors at home - I think this is when I knew I was dreaming) so I sneaked home to hide them - but I dropped them all over the hall, so I was sneaking around trying to pick them up but of course my dad found me and said he was upset and I told him I was only getting them together so I could throw them away. When I went downstairs there wer TONS of inflatables I had to wade through to get to the sitting room, where my dog was, and THAT was the point I woke up. I knew I was dreaming all that time, but I still don't feel like I was in control much. "

" ohhh I had dreams like that. Not very often but when I do, it is so cool.

I usually have vivid dreams. They feel so real that when I wake up, I have to take a few minutes and realize it was just a dream. "

" God yes and I can not wake myself up from mine. I know it is a dream but can not wake up. There was one that I had when my husband finally woke me up from it I was chocking myself. "

" It's a fact of psychology that everyone lucid dreams. It's part of sleeping. Everytime someone falls asleep they must pass that stage. "
