Depression Support Group

I have been on Wellbutrin SR since the Summer. They took me off Cymbalta because I was having sexual side effects and Wellbutrin they say won't effect that. 100MG then 200MG. Other than being forgetful and zoned out every once and awhile I feel that it has stabilized me very well!!!

I took it a couple of years ago and it worked quite well for a while. The only side effect I remember having was a nasty taste in my mouth all of the time. I just chewed gum or popped mints all the time.

It has been one of the most effective meds for me. However, my insurance gave me generic once. Only made it a month, side effects were bad and outlook was horrible. I had to go back to the name brand

I started Wb xl 4 weeks ago. My doc put me on for anxiety. Well I feel more anxious than ever before in my life. I am in constant fear. I am trying to find a way to wean off this med. Its better to live with a little anxiety than to be on this med and be hit like a ton of bricks with it.

I have no experience with Wellbutrin XL, but has recently started taking Wellbutrin SR in addition to some of my other meds. The only thing I've noticed is that it doesn't seem to take much to sap my energy; however, some of that could be the depression as well.

As others have suggested talking to your doctor about these side effects would be prudent.

Even though this is an old discussion I wanted to add a thread. I took Wellbutrin for a while and felt better at first. But after a while I started to experience a "speedy" feeling, especially at work. I stopped taking the medication abruptly without tapering off and had a crash. I will simply say that during that period of time I would go from feelings of gloom and doom to total bliss. I stayed close to people who loved me and could help me stay grounded while I went through the ups and downs while I went back on the medication and slowly tapered off.

I took SR.....300 mg a day for 18 months or so. It totally helped my mood and stability.

I felt dizzy, and they did bloodwork and said I am vitamin D and B12 anemic...there could be underlying medical problems existing with you, so it can't always be the medication.
