" I personally didn't have good results with Wellbutrin XL. I was hoping it would work better, but I got really depressed and anxious while taking it. It's not like that for everybody, that was just my experience. I was switched to Cymbalta and it's working better. But as they say, it does take awhile to reach it's potential. Have you mentioned your side effects to your doctor yet? "

" It worked well with me...no side effects. Talk to your Dr. ASAP, and let them know what you are dealing with. Be an advocate for your health-- it may be as simple as a dosage issue, or it may involve a meds change...be patient with the process and try to follow doctors orders- it may have to do with halflife of the meds or other issues that they give the advice they do. " all meds effect people in different ways..what works for u...might not for me. u can't judge by anothers experience...esp with antidepressants. u hav to keep trying till u find the one for u. if your SE are mild..they will most likely go away. if they are truly bothersome..talk to your doc asap. :) xoxo Di "

" I was on Wellbutrin XL, but my psychiatrist switched me to Wellbutrin SR. The only side affect that seems to be affecting right now are migraines which is a common side affect. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks and then the side effects will gradually taper off. I also get really hot (like hot flashes), but not and I sweat. But not as much now with the SR. "

" I do fine on Welbutrin XL, but two of my sisters also take Welbutrin and they cannot tolerate the side effects of the extended release version. One sister had extremely vivid dreams while taking it and had to go back to regular Welbutrin 2x a day.

Other things I noticed are a kind of dizziness, lightheaded, almost out-of-body feeling that hits every once in awhile. It is momentary, and very infrequent.

Hope this helps :) "

" How is the Wellbutrin XL affecting your depression? I ask because, if the side effects are outweighing the benefits, but the Wellbutrin seems to help your mood, you might want to do what I did: switch from the XL to the Wellbutrin SR.I was having headaches(migraines) and dizziness and some extra anxiety on the XL, but my mood was getting better,so my doctor switched me to Slow Release Form and my side effects basically vanished--plus I was able to get the full beneficial effect of the drug. You might want to ask your doctor if you can try that;25 days is a pretty long "trial" for a med to not have its side effects lessened.Good Luck,
Kaitrin "

" I've been on it for about three years. The SR is what I'm taking now. I used to be on 300mg a day but a couple of years at that dose and I started getting very angry at times (close to rage) and when I told the doctor, they lowered the dose. Now I'm at 200mg a day and I can control the anger.

I'm not sure I ever had any side effects except for mild weight loss and maybe a little dry mouth.

It's been a good medicine for me but I do have to take it early in the morning or I won't sleep well. Hope this helps! "

" I took it for a couple of months and it made me kind of paraniod and anxious so i stoped. I was taking zoloft at the same time so it might have something to do with the side affect i had. still on the zoloft and it is working well. "
